Hi All,
We are currently looking to purchase new disk drives for an Alpha 2100a.
We are currenly using Storage Works RAID array 200, Raid level 5. I would
appreciate any opinions on the following:
Which is faster, raid level 5 or mirroring?
Is assigning each drive in the raid controller a separate scsi
id(channel?) worth while? How do you do this?
Is anyone using raid level 0+1, is this better than raid level 5?
Is it better, more efficient, to have 3 or 4 drives in the raid
controller?
We are looking to purchase either 9 or 18 gig drives. Any advice is
greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
