LSM volumes with Sybase

I am using raw LSM volumes for Sybase. Does anyone know if there is
a way to get sybase to recognize the increase in size when a volume has
been expanded (short of dropping the database/device).

I had expanded a volume and even after cycling the sql server the dbms
did recognize the additional size.
