Hi DU Admins

My question was:

> The power button on our au series PWSs is always off when power is
> restored to the unit (even if it was on when the power failed).
>
> We'd prefer it to start in the state it was in when the power failed
> or if that's not possible to start in the on state. The way it works
> now defeats the UPS shutdown and reboot.
>
> Can the behaviour of this button be changed and if so how?

The only replies I got from the list were "me too"s so I called
Dec/Compaq support. The bad news is that this can't be changed:
that's the way the switches were designed.

Trying to bypass the switch might not be a good idea either.
The Dec tech I spoke to mentioned something about voltage
regulation and the daughter board. At the very least it would
leave you with an unsupported system.

So I guess we're not supposed to use these systems as any kind
of server. As the Dec tech said: they're "Personal" Workstations.
