Greetings again,
Here's another puzzler. We're having problems cross-mounting drives
using NFS to link Solaris2.5.1 and D-UNIX 3.0 machines. The problem
appears to be exclusively one-way. That is, a drive on the SUN machine
exported (using /etc/dfs/sharetab file and share_nfs command) to the DEC
is properly accessed from the DEC (which has the drive mounted under
/etc/fstab), BUT a drive on the DEC exported (using the /etc/exports
file and exportfs command) results in "permission denied"s when
attempting to access from the SUN (which has the drive mounted under
/etc/vfstab).
I think this is a DEC problem, because I just NOW ran into a problem
trying to mount drives between DECs, one running 3.0 and one running
4.1r2. I'm getting messages like "NFS Portmap: RPC: Program not
registered" when I try to "mount" a drive.
Can anybody help?
Chris
