Hi all,
Apologies if this is not strictly an administration-related
question, but I've exhausted my other searches.
One of our users is looking for a command-line method, that would be used
in a script (i.e, not using xv or ImageMagick or something
of the like) to convert an .xwd file to a color postscript file.
I have tried two options:
1. I have the netpbm library installed. On non-Alpha systems
such as Linux-Intel, I can convert an .xwd file using xwdtopnm
and pnmtops. But on Alphas (running either Digital Unix or Linux),
the xwdtopnm command fails to properly read the .xwd file. I suspect
that the format of the .xwd file is different on Alphas.
2. I have tried to use xpr, using a color device such as pjet and outputting
to a file, but that doesn't work either. Using device "ps" works fine
for a black and white postscript file, but I need color.
Using version 4.0.B.
Any helpful tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
