I got different kind of replies, the ones were confirming the some behaviour
on their systems. Other giving the explanation why this problem appends
after 2 system reboot (this is due to the fact that something appends during
the system startup, but after sendmail activation).
The Problem is well described by Daniel Clar:
The problem has been reported to Digital here in Los Angeles.
In fact, dtlogin is modifying /var protections.
A work around is to add a chmod 755 /var command in the
/sbin/rc3.d/S95xlogin
file after CDE is started.
I will have an answer soon on the reason why it's done so.
My comment:
As Compaq is not delivering sendmail 8.9.1 at the moment with DU, I doubt
that they feel concerned with this problem. So lets go with the work around
for now.
