Folks,
I am running Alta Vista firewall software on a DUNIX 4.0/DEC Alpha
server. Last night I lost Internet access to all of my desktops, but
not Internet mail or Tunnelling, which come through the same firewall.
>From the firewall I can ping both Internet sites and addresses on my own
network. When desktop machines try to access an Internet site, they
immediately get the error message "The server you are trying to contact
returned an invalid or unrecognised response" or, more recently, "A
connection with the server could not be established"
Does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this?
