SUMMARY: ufs to advfs

Original Question:
"I have a UFS data disk (not root) that I would like to make into an
ADVFS. I have looked at volencap and wondered if this is the tool to use
as I would have expected to have to backup and then restore the data
into the new file system once it was converted.

How can I perform this task in the least number of steps?
TIA."

Thanks for all the responses. By way of example:

cd /data
tar cvf /dev/rmt0h .
cd /
umount /data
mkfdmn new_domain /dev/rz5c
mkfset new_domain data
vi /etc/fstab
change "/dev/rz5c ufs" to "new_domain#data advfs"
mount new_domain#data /data
cd /data
tar xvpf /dev/rz5
