Hi,
is 8pm.. i'm in the middle of a disk migration and have hit
a problem. i'm moving data on disks from a 3000/400 to
a new AS800 5/333. the data is being backed up onto a
TLZ07-VA (4mm dat). i have put a TLZ09-AA into an as800
on the internal scsi bus (which has the RRD46 cdrom on it
with no problems). the internal bus is a wide bus i believe
as it has 1 * RZ1SB (2G) and 2 * RZ1EB (9G) which it detects
as Wide16 with no problems.
if i try and access the TLZ09 in any way (it's set to scsi id 6)
i get a CCB hard error and it dies. the drive itself is brand
new and unlikely to be DOA (it powers up, etc). it complains
about an active CCB.. and thats it. i can't read anything from
the drive..
can anyone shed any light on this ? does the narrow TLZ09
not work on the wide bus of the as800 ?
i only have a few hours left to try to continue working on
this migration before i have to back out of it, so please
mail me and i'll summarise to the list.
in the meantime, i'll try and think of ways to get around
this problem (all the data is on a narrow bus, and i have
no narrow bus on this fileserver.. how do you move the
data over.. hmm. rsh dump | restore might do it, so that
might be the last thing i try..)
cheers,
-jason
