I am trying to setup a dial-in MODEM on one of the serial ports (/dev/tty01)
on my Alpha Server 2100, DU 4.0d. I have an USR Robotics Sportster 28800.
I have created the line in /etc/inittab:
tty01:1234:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty /dev/tty01 M115200 vt100
the definition in /etc/gettydefs:
M115200# B115200 HUPCL CS8 # B115200 SANE IXANY TAB3 HUPCL #login: #M57600
The modem responds but i haven't the login.
the command file on /dev/tty00 tells me:
/dev/tty00: character special (35/0) ACE_SLU #0 terminal #0
modem_control off
/dev/tty01: character special (35/1) ACE_SLU #0 terminal #1
modem_control off
and the "ps ax |grep getty" tells me that there aren't any gettys waiting...
Probably the problem is "modem_control off", how can i set it to "ON".
Any other suggestions????
