I continue to find it amazing that you deal with Netscape for weeks and get an
answer from this list in minutes. It seems that there's a revised version of a
shared library that Netscape made available to deal with this problem. I've
downloaded it and it's running fine so far. Here's hoping.....

Do you have the libnspr.so patch installed also. I just went through this
whole thing with them. Ask for Jim Lin at Netscape Tech Support, he knows
about this problem, it should be documented by now.

I am running the Enterprise server 3.5.1 on DU 4.0D. I was having a
similar problem. The server process was running a 100% CPU and had to be
restarted. I found a patch on the Netscape site.

After applying the patch, this problem went away. OF course, it was just a
couple days ago when I applied the patch, so maybe it is too early to tell.
Good luck.

We are also running 3.51 (on DU 4.0D) and were getting a lot of
server restarts forced by the watchdog. This would happen mostly when our
server was being especially taxed. We made lots of modifications to decrease
the load and saw that the restarts were very infrequent, so we concluded that
the restarts were dependent on the server load. Another thing: restarts
don't necessarily mean that the server crashed, just that it was too slow in
responding to whatever the watchdog was requesting.

A few of us on this list had this problem last summer and ended up
getting an engineering patch from netscape that solved the problem. They
have the answer just keep pushing them!
