Now it makes sense....

The original question was:
I have a question about the /tmp directory . Files are being placed here
like this:
-rw-rw-rw- 1 username system 62143 Oct 23 09:37 man5448



Here is a snippet from Dr Blinns reply:

"If you kill the process that's displaying the page by using control-C or an
other signal it manages to trap, the page is removed. However, it may be
that the process displaying the page is killed and doesn't have a chance to
delete the page (if you look at a ps you'll see that "man" is really a shell
script that eventually runs "more" to view the page if you do things in the
default way), the temporary copy may be left behind."
