Vax 4000/100 setup

Query :

        Should a Vax 4000/100 be able to support a storage works box with
two TZ89's in it both running 64kb Block operations at the same time ?
As I keep getting errors on one drive or the other at this block size when
they are both in operation at the same time.
Or have I got something else wrong ?
