We have decided to do a fresh install of 4.0d instead
of upgrading from 3.2c.
Before we do the install we are going to be replacing
our boot & data drives with higher capacity drives.
For the install we will boot off the new CDROM & then
have to partition and setup the 4.0d system.
Two questions:
For our 2100 4/275 currently our ECU diskette says V1.8
Will this ECU diskette function for use on DU4.0d? As
well our Storage Works diskette (RCU) is V3.1 for AXP
RAID 200. Will this software also function correctly so
our our RAID controller (currently set for JBOD) still
will function properly (As this is where our data will be
copied to so the restores are a touch faster...Yes. We
will still be backing up to tape --- Just in case).
If the install doesn't go as expected, If we replaced the
old drives, would the system boot back up under 3.2c as
if nothing had happened, since nothing on these drives
will have been changed during the fresh install?
Thanx

The consensus is that I will need v1.10 for the ECU (Which should
come with the cdrom for 4.0d). As for the RCU for the raid controller
It should be at v3.2, and as long as all my boot parameters are the
same,
replacing the old drives should allow it boot back on 3.2c.
Although I would guess I should reinstall ECU v1.8 first, unless the
v1.10 ECU works as well with 3.2c
Thanks to those that responded.
