DU 3.2 (no letter) + DE500 + AServer 400?

Is it feasible to run a DE500-FA 100BaseTX Ethernet card in an
AlphaServer 400 with DU 3.2 (no letter)? I gather that support for the
DE500 family of cards was new as of 3.2C. Also, what's the minimum
firmware revision required for support of this card? Are the new
firmware revisions backwards compatible to the old versions of DU?
