Detecting network interface card type

Hi All,

I'm looking for a way to identify the type of network card/s
I have installed in a alpha800/alpha1000 running 4.0a - 4.0d using
a small script or C program. I know how to check thru SRM console,
but I need to detect it on a running system.
By type I mean DE504/DE500/DE425 etc..
