Sorry I should have listed the responses I received, so now I am going to do
that.

John Seel:
A little help perhaps. I used a BN24H cable and H8575-B MMJ to DB9 adapter
to connect to a similar DECserver. Default baud is 9600, 8 bits, no parity.

If you hold the reset button in while applying power it should initialize to
the defaults in case someone has preconfigured it.

Steve Parker:

I have used a DEC 90M in the past.

Step 0 - Remove power !

Step 1 - Plug in a 'terminal' to port 1 which also acts as the console port.
(9600 noparity 1 stop XON should work)

Step 2 - Connect it to the Network ( The 90M will not start if not
connected )

Step 3 - Connect Power - Lights will start flashing

Step 4 - Wait (You should see output on the terminal)

Step 5 - Wait (Yes it takes about 5-10 mins as FLASH program is loaded)

Step 6 - When the lights have stopped flashing and the terminal indicates
everything has loaded logon using the 'user' command (I think)

Bruce Hines:
If 90M is new and connection info has not been setup, then connect your
laptop
to port 1 on the 90M. This should allow you into the 90M. The first
password
is set to "access". Then issue "set priv" command which will prompt for a
password "system". Both these are the factory default passwords. You then
should be able to setup the ip address and default gateway, so you can make
a telnet connect in the future. Compaq also has their Access Server Manager
product that makes it easier to support from a NT box.
