Dear all,
I have a number of Dec 2000 machines running DU3.2c. Until very recently all
comms/printing was via terminal servers. I have attempted to install a
3-port jet-direct box to one of these boxes with very limited success.
During install, and testing by sending basic print jobs everything worked
fine. Now in production the print queues driving the jet-direct box are
endlessly hanging. I might get 1 or 2 jobs out of every print queue every
hour or so.
"lpc status" says "waiting for hpjtnt1 to come up" on each of these queues.
"lpc restart" is ineffective as is /sbin/rc3.d/S65lpd stop/start
The jet-direct printserver is freely available on the network and is
resolved in /etc/hosts file. Ping responses are continuous and fast.
Spooler dirs appear okay, as do err files.
Entry in /etc/printcap is:
lp|lp0|0:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lp0err:\
:lp:\
:rm=hpjtnt1:\
:sh:\
:rp=raw1:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd0:
Two more entries with rp as "raw2" and "raw3"
Any advice appreciated. Have searched archives with limited success.
TIA
Malcolm Condie
