Apparantly the man pages aren't loaded in the default
installation. I did use setld to load them (so I thought,
however, I didn't load all of the subsets).
Since the upgrade didn't go exactly as planned...actually
went very little as planned, we reset our system back to
the 3.2c version and will have to try again later (luckily
to get back, was just a matter of replacing (swapping) 4
drives into the machine then powering back up). It took us
all weekend to install and tune the 4.0d, but 5 minutes to
get back to 3.2c...but at least it's working.
Learned a few things...
1. like using the p option in cp (copy) when copying directories
to a drive that wouldn't be swapped. When I copyied them back
after the install, I lost all time/date/user/group attributes
(didn't help the /usr/users files too much...:()
Thanks to those who responded..

Subject: Clarification: 4.0d installation problems.....:(
Would like to clarify. I know where the man files are
supposed to be at...however there are no files in the
directorys (empty). How do I "install" the man pages,
so that they are placed in the /usr/man or /usr/share/man?

ahhhhhhh.
Hmmm. In hindsite, a triple upgrade might have been better
than the full installion of 4.0d (with C2) then copying back the data.
my previous OS was 3.2c (with C2)
Some problems.
1. I don't have any man pages....Don't know where to get them.
I did the default installation (I checked setld and the documentation
options have been loaded, the kernals been rebuilt multiple times).
The installation guide doesn't really talk about the man pages
at least I didn't find it.
2. How do I get my old users /tcb database back with their old
passwords? I initially copied the /usr/users directories
copied /etc/passwd & /etc/group back in place. I managed using
the gui interface to get them back, but either without passwords
or by globally setting all the same (I could have individually
changed each one...but global was easier).
I'm sure I'll have many other issues over the next couple weeks, but
for now these are my biggest...considering though...that's not that bad.
Thanks
