Hello,

We are running an Alpha 4000 with DU4.0B and a Tulip Ethernet card. I
want to change the subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.252.0. So,
I edited the rc.config, modified the existing entry as follow:

"IFCONFIG_0="x.y.z.t netmask 255.255.252.0"

and rebooted.

After doing that,it is still the old subnet mask which is used. I also
tried to change it using the command 'ifconfig', using the 'netsetup'
script and via the GUI, all those operations followed by the execution
of 'rcinet' to restart of the services or by a reboot. Nothing changed:
I keep 255.255.255.0.

Has anybody an idea about?

Regards.
