(On an old du3.2 alphastation 200/4/166)
I've had a request to enable the discard service on tcp/9.
Never worried about it 'till now. The requestor wants to use this port for
measuring some tcp transfer rates.
What do I have to do to enable this service please? There are the
"standard" enteries in /etc/services. No mention of tcp/9 in inetd.conf.
I do not have any ip protection in place from s/w like tcp wrappers.
(I've just done a simple> telnet localhost 9 and get a connection refused
msg. Expected?)
