Hi!

Surprisingly, I received only one response from
-----------------------------------------
Martin Mokrejs <mmokrejs_at_natur.cuni.cz>

This works for me fine, on ttyS1, on ttyS1 we have UPS communication
software. The server is AS1000A 5/300, DU4.0D (previously 4.0B).[B

modem:23:respawn:/usr/lib/uucp/uugetty -r -t 60 /dev/tty00 19200
ups:23:off:/usr/sbin/getty /dev/tty01 2400
---------------------------------------

The inittab entries did not help. So, I placed a call with Digital(oops..
Compaq) and an engineer came and changed the jumper settings to disable RCM
on tty00(the earlier disable I mentioned was through software). After
this(YES), I am able to configure /dev/tty00 using the Faxing Software.

Regards,
Shiva.
