Hi Managers

I searched the list previously about adding a second NIC to an alphastation
500 running Du4.0B. While the consensus was to add a patch, most respondees
decided to upgrade to 4.0D. Well, I tried the patch, but it didn't work. I
queried the list, but received no replies related to my problem. So I
decided to upgrade to 4.0D... but still have the same problem, which is:

        tu1: DECchip 21143 Rev 3.0
        tu1: auto-negotiation capable device
        tu1: can't support multi-port cards
tu1 in slot 8 not probed

and tu1 is not visible to unix. This was also the symptom on 4.0B with
jumbo patch 08 installed.

OS: DU 4.0D jumbo patch kit #2
System: Alphastation 500
Network card: DE500-BA 10/100
SRM Firmware release v6.8-2
/AlphaBIOS Firmware release 4.56

The 10Mbit DECchip 21040 as tu0 works fine. Any suggestions?

BTW, Karim Keshavjee <keshavje_at_cwr.uwa.edu.au> reports John Files
(jhf_at_dmu.ac.uk) as saying,
> Ensure correct rev of card **B01** (A01 will NOT work with Alpha
architecture)
Does Rev A01 apply to the above configuration?

TIA
Gavin
