Hello to all,
the best answer i think came form alan_at_nabeth. Thank you!!

orig. question was:
> does anyone know how to identify wheter a KZPSA-BB controller is
> installed or not on a running alpha 2100?

anser is:
There are three states the hardware can be in:

1. Not physically installed.
2. Physically installed, but not configured.
3. Physically installed and configured.

To test for the first, you have to look at the PCI slots to
see if there is a 68 pin SCSI connector. Testing the 3rd is
also easy, since you merely have to look for a "pza" device
in the boot listing.

The 2nd is hardest to check. Unfortunately, from the outside
you can't tell the difference between a KZPSA and KZPDA. The
KZPBAs are stamped to indicates whether the controller is
Single-ended or Differential. If you can shut the system down,
it is much easier to check since the console should be able
to difference.
