SUMMARY-viewing hidden files

the original post was on viewing hidden files.
the problem was getting to a hidden directory
in a subdirectory of a users dir. tree. kudos
to alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com who pointed out that
placing the directory path in closed quotations
will get you there. in my case the directory was
named "/.. " (yes there was a space in there),
where someone had placed a -csh file and a bnc.conf
file. (see Paul Crittended's Summary: possible hacker).
i removed the files through the filemanager gui but
alan did send me some command line systax to accomplish
the same task. one question i have remains- what do the
entries in the bnc.conf file mean? they look like:
pt:33303
ps:kill3r
mv:10
dp:6667
i surmise the ps: entry is the process name (i didn't find it
in the process table). if you know the rest e-mail me directly.
thanx again.
