Thanks for the TONS of replies. You know who you are. Now I feel
like real idiot! Of course, the answer was time(3). I guess I didn't
see it because time(1) kept getting in the way. Once again I have to
say, This List RULES!

Is there a function somewhere in Digital Unix that will give me the
number of seconds from Jan. 1970 to the present? I can't find anything
in the man pages and I hate to write one if I'm just reinventing the
wheel. If not, maybe someone has one already written (pref. in Perl)?
