Greetings Unix Gurus

I saw a post earlier by someone discussing how to find out what patch
levels were on his system. So I thought hey good idea, I should check that.

Summary of his summary was:
1. Look in /usr/var/adm/patch/ or /usr/.smbd./
(I have none of these files.)

2. Check cat /bin/ls...
(None here either.)

3. use dupatch of DUV4....
(Can't find dupatch on my system??)

Now I'm clueless and patchless all in one.
Tried man pages on dupatch...nada nothing?

Is DUpatch the preferred method for applying maintenance/patches? Is that a
shareware thing?
I just got out of a SYS ADmin course and not a thing was mentioned about
applying patches...and I didn't think to ask..

I'm running a 4100 and 8200 Unix V40b.

Is anyone using LaGotto (sp?) for backups? Is it user friendly?

Thanks
Dennis
