Hi everyone.
My question :
We're running Networker 4.2A on an Alpha 255/300 running DU 3.2g.
I would like to restore a filesystem from one ULTRIX client to another
ULTRIX client(i.e., I am moving the filesystem from one
machine to another). Both are NEtworker clients.
The only way I can think to do this is to nfs mount the filesystem from
the new machine (where I want to move the data to) to the old
machine(where the data lives now) and do the
restore to the nfs-mounted filesystem. WIll this work? Is there
another way to do this?
Networker will take the "relocate" command- BUT, it appears that
"relocate" means relocate to a different area ON THE SAME HOST.
I, of course want to relocate to a different client.....
I tried just using the ULTRIX dump utility, but the filesystem is so
congested with entries(directories and files), I got a tape error a
third of the way through the "restore". I'm avoiding tar because I'd
like to preserve the original dates on all the directories.......
I'll greatly appreciate any guidance on this!!
