Changing ipc values using sys

Hi Managers

        I need to change the settings for shared memory to a higher value
        from the default on my DGUNIX 4.0B.

       I am using sysconfig -r ipc shm-max=16777216

       to chage but get an error message
      shm-max: attribute does not allow this operation.


     Is there another way to change this value?.

    Help!
