after a crash I asked you about the meaning of the message "compiled
-g3: parameter values probably wrong" from crashdc.

my deepest thanks go out to:
John Becker [John.Becker_at_digital.com]
Andrew Gallatin [gallatin_at_cs.duke.edu]
Alan Davis [Alan.Davis_at_digital.com]
Dr. Tom Blinn, 603-884-0646 [tpb_at_zk3.dec.com]

who all put me in the right direction - to read the man page of cc/gcc:
I a few words -g3 is just a
flag for the compiler which optimize the code and unfortunately make it
difficult to debug.

best regards Dirk
