Compiling the 'monitor' utility on DU 4.0d

Hello managers,

I am trying to install the monitor utility on a 4100 running du 4.0d.
The code compiles but I get core dumped when I run the monitor process.
I have copied a version that was compiled on 3.2b and it runs.
