Hello,

Dr. Tom Blinn pointed me to some important omissions in my upgrade
procedure. Although it was not meant to be a precise step by step
cookbook I'll add them here to avoid confusing somebody:

- boot into single user mode with "boot -fl s"
- run bcheckrc to check and mount local file systems
turn on swapping and start the update process

                # bcheckrc
                # swapon -a
                # update

and depending on what you're going to be doing, you might
want to set your system's hostname:

                # hostname xxxx.yyyyy.zzzzz

- remove the Intraserver driver with "setld -d ITPSABIN100"
- run the upgrade procedure with /sbin/installupdate
- after the reboot and the initial kernel rebuild and subset
configuration, install the new Intraserver driver and
  rebuild the kernel

So thanks again to Dr. Tom Blinn for pointing that out.

Tom
