Hi -
We've just had an AlphaStation 200 4/166 (UNIX 3.2C) returned from
repair. I notice that the graphics card, apart from having its DIP
switches altered (now reset) is also in a different PCI slot. (It may
have been swapped, but is apparently the same type as before,
ZLXp-E1, having the same part number stamped on the face plate).
Problem is, I am not getting any graphics on screen, although there
are apparently X-related processes running. Does the movement of the
card from one slot to another mean that I will have to rebuild the
kernel to get the graphics going again? (I would prefer to move the
card back again if so, so that it can have the old kernel, which is
common to it and a number of other dataless workstations).
If it's not the kernel, can you offer any other suggestions for
getting the graphics back?
Thanks
Richard
