BACK-UPS Pro

We just purchased 2 Back-UPS PRO's and one Smart-UPS for three Alphas
running DU 4.0b.

I've got PowerChute setup running off the smart UPS - this is working
fine, but I can't get the daemon to communicate with the BACK-UPS Pro's.
The APCC.COM website states the following:
---------
PowerChute plus for DEC OSF/1 does not support simple signaling mode,
which is to say that it is not compatible with the APC UPS models
Back-UPS, Back-UPS Pro, and Network PowerCell. Simple signaling mode is
not supported because Digital could not provide information to
configure the ports as modem control ports (which is required for proper
simple signaling monitoring with any version of UNIX).

If the user knows how to configure his/her serial port for modem control,
it will likely work correctly with the APC simple signaling cable for
UNIX (APC part number 940-0023, sold separately as APC SKU number AP9823).
---------------------
Anyone know how to configure this?
