Hi all, I tried an upgrade of an 8200froom DU4.0B to 4.0D over the weekend
and had problems. (of course).

The problem was when I was doing a firmware upgrade, it went something like
this....

boot to the CD (V5.0 firmware, was on V3.9 firmware).
Used the default file ie 8X00
did UPD
then it said for the ARC firmware
The current version is newer than the CD version (para phrased)
the versions were
on the 8200 = 5.14-5
on the CD = 5.3-15

I thought (very dangerous :) ) that maybe the version numbers had swapped
ie from 15-3 to 3-15
so I overwrote the 14-5 firmware, everything else upgraded fine.

When the 8200 rebooted it couldn't open the file eeprom0
so I reinstalled the older firmware from V3.9 and everything
went fine (but no unix upgrade).

I will also contact Digital..

Alf...
