What is /dev/timedev ?

Hi all,

My problem is not directly related to Digital Unix, but here goes:

We have just upgraded the Oracle Application (Web) server to v3.0,
running on a 2100A with Digital Unix v4.0B, and as part of the
installation, the procedure asked that we create a special device:
   /dev/timedev

Since we are also running CA-Unicenter v1.5 we have been having problems
with the Unicenter kernel component (ENF) that is bitching each
time an Oracle process is accessing the /dev/timedev device.

My questions are:

1) what is /dev/timedev?
2) Why does Oracle need it?
3) Anybody knows how to tell Unicenter to stop complaining?

Any help is appreciated.
