Basically everyone said doing the file command on /dev/rrz*c would give
the answer.
After a few e-mails back and forth with Alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com, I got
the full details
I really needed to get the answer.
Here are the steps I took....
1) file /dev/rrzb43c, that showed me...
scsi #5 and scsi id #3, which is Bus 5 and Target 3. Lun 1 is from
the "b" in rrzb43c
2) scu show edt
look for a device not present on bus 5.
3) hszterm -b 5 -t 3 -l 3 (which is not present on my system. Anything
from bus 5 is ok that
is not present)
4) from the HSZ prompt:
show units
My system comes up with D101, D201 and D301.
I know it is D301 because the 1 is the Lun number which is b in
rrzb43.
The 3 is the scsi id number taken from the file command on
/dev/rrzb43c
I know I'm on the right bus also since I did a hszterm -b 5 which I
got from
the file command which is the scsi number.
D301 uses R1
5) show R1 will shows me disk200, disk210, disk220 and disk230. .
so rzb43c is disk200 disk210 disk220 and disk230 on my system.
another example would be rzb51c which is on bus 6 and is also lun 1
and scsi id 3. This is also D301 but points to a stripeset using
different
disks.
