In the /etc/sendmail.cf file there is a section as thus:
# place to which unknown users should be forwarded
#Kuser user -m -a<>
#DLname_of_luser_relay
I cannot find anything to tell me how to get this set up properly. I assume
this means that when we receive a message for a user who is not on this
machine, that message will be forwarded to a relay of some sort. Does this
in any way compromise the "no relay" stuff in 8.8.8? I am running sendmail
8.8.8 by the way. The "no relay" is working great thus far. The reason I
need to do this is that there used to be users on this machine with mail
coming in to it and sharing with another machine. This machine now has a
new life and no longer knows of these other folks. I cannot set up an MX
record for it yet due to the fact that there are some people getting mail on
this machine. I would like to hand off (valid local) mail to another
machine which knows how to reach everyone with a local account. Is that
above section from the sendmail.cf file the way to do that? Any help
appreciated. Thanks.
