CD mount - summary

Simply... never trust what you see.
/sys/conf/EBETA _had_ the line

options CDFS

but today the person who managed the machine before me, (actually an NT VB programmer)
told me:
"Gee... Last month I overwrote /vmunix ... So I called a tech and he gave me a
new /vmunix but the CD never worked anymore since then... So glad we got an UNIX
sysadm (me) now..."

Sigh. But I must say that Linux, at least, had a /proc/filesystems file that
contained all the FSs supported at the moment by the kernel.
I rebuilt the kernel (BTW: GNU make isn't compatible with the kernel Makefile),
rebooted, and voila, here I've got the Alpha Freeware CD...

Thanks to everybody.

(Back to work now... I just discovered three copies of the unstripped gdb binary
-8822784 bytes-... one in /usr/local/bin, one in /usr/bin, and one in /sbin.
I think I've got a lot of work to do on this baby... :( )
