i have a problem with logging into an alpaha server 1200 running du4.0b
users login using reflections XDMCP broadcast
this runs fine on all unix boxes apart from the one i want (ie i can connect to them)
but an error message comes up for the 1200 saying
Your XDMCP connection timed out-make sure the hosts on your network are running xdm programs. (RX2102)
The thing is i ran bindsetup and mailsetup yesterday
when i ran bindsetup the first time i set the 1200 as a primary server
when it asked if i wanted to change the hostname i replied no
should i have said yes?
after that i ran it again and set it up as a secondary server and again
when it asked if i wanted to change the hostname i replied no
should i have said yes?
is it something to do with bindsetup or is there some daemon that could be missing from the 1200
