Upgrade Digital Unix to 4.0b

-We are going to upgrade our DEC Alphastation 200 4/166 from Digital Unix
3.2c to 4.0b so we can use ARCINFO 7.1.2 and ArcView 3.0b. We are debating
whether to do a cold install of 4.0b or upgrade 3.2c to 4.0, then to 4.0b.
Any advice/tips? Which method do you recommend?
