Dear Managers,
there is another problem I tried to solve with salvage. A colleague
(who, of course, is gone for holidays) has installed a new system on a
disk that contained user data. He relabeled the disk, so there might
be some chance that the old data is not overwritten.
I installed the old disklabel (thank's to unicensus which stored it) and
tried to mount the old advfs. this leads to following error messages:
8< ---------------- cut here -------------------- >8
Apr 2 14:26:07 msftemp vmunix: bmtr_find: corrupt bmt record header
Apr 2 14:26:07 msftemp vmunix: AdvFS Domain Panic; Domain tdom Id 0x32523340.00015e0d
Apr 2 14:26:07 msftemp vmunix: An AdvFS domain panic has occurred due to either a metadata write error o\
r an internal inconsistency. This domain is being rendered inaccessible.
Apr 2 14:26:07 msftemp vmunix: Please refer to guidelines in AdvFS Guide to File System Administration r\
egarding what steps to take to recover this domain.

Where can I find this miterious " AdvFS Guide to File System Administration"?
Running salvage on the partition gives hundreds of error messages
salvage: Can't convert page to lbn
and a running salvage, that eats 98% of the cpu but no recovered data,
even after 20 hours. What can I do?
