I just upgraded a small (3000/300) machine from 4.0b to 4.0d. Everything
went fine, but when booting after the upgrade the system panics:
# showfdmn usr_domain
trap: invalid memory read access from kernel mode
faulting virtual address: 0x0000000000000000
pc of faulting instruction: 0xfffffc000031a27c
ra contents at time of fault: 0xfffffc000031a27c
sp contents at time of fault: 0xffffffff87e7f4e0
panic (cpu 0): kernel memory fault
syncing disks... done
DUMP: 262144 blocks available for dumping.
The root is on an advs domain which works OK, but touching the
usr_domain (even showfdmn like this example) causes the machine
to crash.
usr_domain has 2 partitions: /dev/rz3g (same disk as /), (rz25)
and /dev/rz2g (rz26).
Booting from the CD and trying to touch the usr_domain causes the
same thing. IDEAS?
Something I did wrong: I was so sure 4.0b and 4.0d had the same fw
revs, so I didn't even look it up. I was wrong... But an upgrade to
V7 didn't help, at least not afterward.
PS. reply to me, I'm not subscribed currently...
