Hi DU Admins
The system is a PW 500au running DU 4.0C and sendmail 8.8.8.
I'm trying to set up a mailertable to send mail from our
site to a remote site through a relay.
This is the entry I've got in sendmail.cf:
Kmailertable hash -o /var/adm/sendmail/mailertable
The mailertable entries are like this:
host.remote.domain.au IPC:relay.host.au
Sendmail starts up okay but when I run an address like
user_at_host.remote.domain.au through ruleset 0 in address test
mode it shows:
> 0 user_at_host.remote.domain.au
<snip>
rewrite: ruleset 0 returns: $# esmtp $_at_ host . remote . domain . au
$: user < _at_ host . remote . domain . au >
Which indicates that sendmail will try to open an esmtp connection
with the remote host rather than send through the relay.
Can anyone see what's wrong with either my .cf file entry or with
the mailertable entry. (I've got the O'Reilly sendmail book - the
bat book - but it's the 1993 edition and doesn't have any information
about sendmail 8.8 mailertables.)
Thanks
Ian
