Operate large file between DEC and Sun via nfsv3

Hi all,

We have several 2100's and 4100's running DU 4.0b and 1 Sun server running Solaris 2.5.1 with
a SAM-FS filesystem which accepts very large files. The 2 environments are in mixed network and
use NFS v3.

The problem is:

I cannot copy, list or otherwise handle large files in any file system on the Solaris 2.5.1
server when mounted via NFS3 on another machine. When trying to operate on a file larger
than 2GB the process hangs with error message "NFS server not responding".

If i mount the filesystem and use -o nfsv2 (version 2 of nfs) option and copy the large file with ftp
(since nfsv2 cannot copy files larger than 2 GB), there are no problems at all to list and handle large
files.

Does anybody know if it is a bug in version 3 of nfs ?
