My original question was:
Dear Alpherites
I have a small problem. I am planning an upgrade of a OSF/1 v2.0 system
to DU40.d this coming weekend.
My problem is that in the case of a catastrophic failure, I would need to
restore the original configuration. Fine everyone says. Boot off the CD
and restore the data from your dumps.
I don't have a OSF/1 V2.0 CD!!
This system was installed a few years ago and with an organisational
re-adjustment, the media has disappeared into a black hole.
One saving grace is that 4.0d is going onto a new 2Gb disk retaining the
original boot disk.
This requirement is that of total disaster. I'm a pessimist - if it can
go wrong, it will!
Your help is much appreciated.
Bernt Christanl has said that I should be able to use the restore
software on the 4.0d CD to restore the data if required.
My thanks also goes to Wesley Darlington who offered my a copy of the
V2.0 CD.
