I just compiled the new sendmail 8.9 and got it in so I could easily switch over
from my old one to the new one for testing, I have an entry in the syslog
mail.log as such:
May 26 12:12:58 ulysium sendmail[22394]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(dg): queuename: Cannot
create "qfMAA22394" in "/var/spool/mqueue" (euid=205): Permission denied
and when I send a msg to myself (from dg to dg), it never arrives and sometimes
goes to somebody else. I checked all the permissions on the / /usr /var
/var/spool /var/spool/mqueue and so forth, and they seem fine, all is owned by
root with group system and no write permissions for group and others. My
current sendmail (v5.65 DEC supported) works just fine, I put it back in for
now, but when I switch over to the 8.9 one, it doesn't work right and every msg
coming in to user dg (me) generates this permission denied with user is 205 (id
of dg). The way I switch over right now is to simply replace the sendmail
binary and the .cf file by the one I want to use and run the -bi for the aliases
because they have different versions of database, then I run the daemon in the
same way for either one, with the switches -bd -q15m and that's it.
Would someone have an idea about what the deal is here?
