Hi all,

I wonder if anybody can reassure us about the installation of a Seagate
Barracuda 9Gb (ST39173N) within a AlphaStation 1000 4/233 to be held in a
StorageWorks carrier? Since this workstation is currently under a DEC
hardware maintenance contract, I have heard reports that these hard disk
run particularly hot. We wish to replace three of our 4Gb disk with these
9Gb flavours.

Our DEC reseller did offer an equivalent disk (PBXRW-SA?), but are 200
UK pounds (330 US dollars) per hard disk more expensive.

Any comments or suggestions would be most welcome. Summary to follow.

Regards,
Rich
