Hi DU Admins

We have two PW 500au workstations which have always shown this
message at power up. The solution according to Rainer Wolf's
summary of April 6 is to upgrade to the firmware that ships
with 4.0D which I think is firmware release 5.0.

We also have a PW 433au which we recently upgrade to firmware
release 5.1 to solve a different problem and it gives the
same error message.

So if firmware release 5.0 fixes the problem it looks as though
release 5.1 reintroduces it.

All these systems run reasonably reliably but occassionally they
lock up completely. That is you can't do anything at the console,
can't login remotely, can't even ping the machine. The only
solution is a reboot.

Other solutions suggested (Peter Marquardt's summary of March 18)
are: replace the cache memory - but our 500au's don't have any -
and replace the motherboard which seems a bit drastic.

Before I go ahead and upgrade the Firmware on the 500au's to
revision 5.0 and downgrade the 433au Firmware I thought I'd
ask if anyone else has seen this problem and found a solution.

Please Note: you won't find the error message in any of the boot
logs: you'll only see it on the console during a power up.
