Hi there again,
Last week, I posted a question about connecting a network drive with Samba
on DU3.2G. I should have given some more information which I will do now.
I didn't compile Samba myself, I just got the already compiled package for
OSF1 from the Samba site. However I did the same for our HP machine, and I
have no problems mounting a drive on my NT PC from there.
Also we currently have an Alpha machine that we are using for Y2K testing,
which was setup by copying info from our live Alpha machine, including the
Samba stuff and the C2 password info, and amazingly I can set up a network
drive from that no worries. However when I try to setup one from our live
Alpha machine, I get "Incorrect Password or Unknown Username"
I can't work it out.
Thanks to the people who have already replied to my original message, who
mostly suggested to make sure I send plain text password, which I have
already done.
Thanks to

If anyone else has some other ideas, I'd love to hear them, it's driving me
nuts, I have no idea why it works on one Alpha and not the other, what am I
missing?
TIA
Glenn.
